The Solution® Skin Transformer arrived melted? What should I do?
The Solution Skin Transformer is a melt-to-the-touch solid concentrate. When exposed to heat above body temperature, including during transit, it may melt or change consistency. The Solution® Skin Transform works perfectly either way, but if you’d like to return it to its solid form, here’s how:
- If fully melted: Stir thoroughly with a clean spatula. Then, place the jar in your fridge until it solidifies.
- If partially melted or the texture has changed: Tighten the lid securely and place the jar in a bowl of very hot (but not boiling) water, ensuring the lid stays above the waterline. Leave it for a few minutes or until fully liquefied. Then, follow the steps above to return it to a solid state.
The Solution® Skin Transformer now has a grainy texture. What should I do?
Occassionally The Solution Skin Transformer can feel grainy due to the nature of shea butter, one of our key ingredients. This can happen when it is exposed to fluctuating temperatures.
Shea butter is made up of various fatty acids (like stearic and oleic acid) that have different melting points. When shea butter is heated and then cools down too slowly or unevenly — as can happen during shipping or storage in fluctuating temperatures — the fatty acids can crystallize, forming tiny grainy bits in the product.
The good news is the grains will melt beautifully on contact with warm fingers and are perfectly safe and nourishing for your skin. It doesn’t affect the quality or performance of the product, but we totally understand how it can be a bit unexpected. If you like, you can gently re-melt the product in a warm water bath until fully liquid, give it a stir, then let it cool quickly in the fridge to restore a smooth texture.
Always store your jar away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.
Why is my new jar of The Solution® Skin Transformer a different colour than my last one?
The Solution Skin Transformer is made entirely with natural ingredients. Because nature isn’t one-size-fits-all, the color of our finished product may vary slightly from batch to batch. These subtle differences come from the natural variation in our plant oils and butters — and are a beautiful reminder that you’re nourishing your skin with pure, real ingredients.
Why did my jar of The Solution® Skin Transformer change colour after I started using it?
Because natural ingredients — like plant oils, butters, and essential oils — are alive with active compounds. When these ingredients are exposed to air, light, heat, or impurities (like water or bacteria from fingers or a dirty scoop), a process called oxidation can occur. This simply means the natural components react with oxygen, which may slightly alter the product’s color, texture, or scent over time.
It’s completely normal in clean, preservative-free skincare and doesn’t affect the safety of the product, though it’s best to close the jar tight an to use a clean, dry scoop to help keep it fresh.
